Developing a customized Six Sigma strategy

Identify key goals of Six Sigma deployment

Understand specific goals of the organization towards Six Sigma deployment and thereafter develop a customized plan.

Conduct an assessment of the organization’s readiness

Assess the organization towards Six Sigma Readiness from the perspective of data availability, buy-in of management & people etc.

Develop a deployment plan including resource planning, timelines, change management and communication strategy.

This phase involved understanding the kind of resources required towards Six Sigma deployment, timelines for each, rewards & recognition and the type & frequency of communication that will be required to make the deployment penetrate deep into the organization.

Building organizational competency

Champions training

This training is intended for the top management to introduce themselves to the concepts and methodology of Six Sigma for effective organization implementation.

Master Black Belt training

This is a very detailed training comprising of Six Sigma tools & methodology and also softer training like Change Management & Leadership training.

Black Belt training

This is a pure technical Six Sigma training comprising of Six Sigma tools & methodology.

Green Belt training

This is limited training on the Six Sigma tools and methodology.

Facilitating effective Deployment

Project Selection / Scoping exercises

This exercise involves selecting specific areas to select specific projects based on the organization goals. This ensures that all projects selected are towards organization benefit only.

Project review

The Six Sigma projects after being assigned to respective Greens Belts / Black Belts are reviewed periodically to ensure that the projects are in the right direction and using the Six Sigma methodology correctly. Even the management is invited for this review to keep track of the project progress.

Mentoring Black Belts and Green Belts for successful completion

The project / methodology mentoring happens along with the project reviews.

Transferring knowledge and expertise to the organization

This is the most crucial part of the deployment. This involves transferring the Six Sigma expertise to the organization to ensure that they can take forward the initiative in terms of projects, mentoring and reviews.
